For over two centuries Key West has been historically known as Bone Island, and Bone Island Bare It All gives a whole new meaning to that name!

Two weekends each year, hundreds of gay naturists and guys who like to get naked fill up Key West’s clothing-optional guesthouses and gay-friendly hotels for a weekend of naked fun in paradise.  Featured events include dance parties, pool parties, shopping, dining, sailing, performances, and tours.  All naked!  Check your clothing and inhibitions at the doors of Key West’s famous gay daytime and nighttime establishments.

Your Host: Dean Townsend, The Naked Realtor

DeanTownsend.com

Dean Townsend was born in Montréal, grew up on Chicago’s North Shore and spent his childhood summers in the English countryside.  After attending McGill University, he toiled away as a thermal dynamics engineer by day so he could invest in real estate by night—buying and selling thirty homes by the age of forty.

In 2002, escaping a cold Chicago winter, Dean first visited Key West.  Captivated by the island’s tropical charms, he returned to the frozen north, quit his engineering job, sold his house, and moved into his first Key West cottage within a few months.  Dean found his place in the sun.

Dean dove into Key West real estate head first, becoming a Realtor® shortly after settling in.  Between selling houses and devoting himself to numerous community organizations, he found time to complete a couple of residential redesign projects and constructed a new home in Old Town.

Seventeen years ago he started Bone Island Bare It All as a way to gather naturists for a weekend of camaraderie and share with them the beauty and fun of Key West.  Bone Island has come a long way since that first weekend in December 2006.  Each time, more men discover Key West’s unique brand of fun and go home telling their buddies about it.

With the success of Bone Island, Dean has become known around town as the “Naked Realtor,” a title he wears – or doesn’t wear – proudly.  Being a local Key West realtor for over twenty years as well as a naturist, Dean has helped numerous friends find their perfect piece of paradise where they are free to be themselves.  Here on Bone Island we live by our motto, One Human Family.  For its entire history, this small island has welcomed people to be themselves.  Dean is proud to help others discover the joy of living “far from normal, close to perfect.”  If you’ve ever dreamed of a secluded island escape where you can feel free to drop your clothes and feel at home, let Dean help you find or create your private oasis.

EVENT ETIQUETTE

Welcome to Bone Island Bare It All Weekend!  We at Bone Island have tried to organize an event that showcases the beauty of nature in our little slice of Paradise.  And while we champion every possible representation of the human body, this particular event is designed for those identifying and presenting as a gay/queer/trans adult male… no disrespect intended to anyone else.

As we at Bone Island seek to provide a safe, fun, and respectful naturist event for our guests, we also expect our guests to be respectful of each other, local residents, and venue staffs.  It, of course, should go without saying that body shaming of any type will not be tolerated.  Nor will any acts of homophobia, racism, transphobia, misogyny, ableism, or xenophobia.  There is enough meanness in the world that we should not visit any upon each other at Bone Island (neither the event, nor our island home)!

Since Bone Island Bare It All is an event which freely celebrates the male body, there may be times when inhibitions – in addition to items of clothing – are checked at the door!  In such instances, we ASK our guests to be safe, and we INSIST that boundaries be respected.  We will not tolerate any unwanted touching.  No means No.  We will not tolerate photography without affirmative consent, either.  ASK for consent.   We also follow all the house rules at each of our venues whether or not specifically mentioned here.

We want you to have safe fun and be respectful.  We strongly encourage you to be vaccinated against COVID, Monkeypox, and all transmissible illnesses; do it to protect yourself, but more importantly, do it to protect your fellow guests. Know your status, and get tested before and after having fun. Our amazing local community has all the resources you may need.  We are all adults, so let’s be responsible while enjoying ourselves.

We’re glad you’re here!  Be free!  But please remember to also be smart, be respectful, be safe; follow those simple guidelines, and we will all have a blast!
